I also advocate a perspective shift. When it comes right down to it, this stuff is the *ultimate* "tempest in a teapot". I am also very prone to jamming my eye down into the top of the pot, so the dumb thing fills up my vision, and therefore forgetting just how small and petty it really is in the overall scope of life!
Pan back and remember that there are SO many more important things in your life. Go play with your dog. Have a good cup of tea (but not from a teapot) or several. Go somewhere that's full of natural beauty and just soak it in - nature is the ultimate reminder of "this too shall pass", and I know that helps me settle. Spend time with friends and family who are NOT part of the Teapot Brigade. Read a good book or watch a favorite movie so you can focus on someone else's problems instead of yours - that's a sovereign remedy for me!
Overall, take a deep breath and remember that you are loved. :-)
