House, dog, and jewelry
Aug. 29th, 2007 06:45 pmI got my house back! Woo-Hoo!
The tenants who didn't pay rent are out. There is the expected amount of garbage in the house and yard, but at least they didn't punch holes in the walls. There is one broken pane in a larger window. The locks have been changed, and it's mine, all mine!
How does a family manage to turn carpet *black* within 8 months?
Anyhow, as the money is getting tight, I'll be moving into this house toward the end of September while I'm fixing it up. Again. I have to make that house payment anyway, and nobody would rent it in this condition. I would like to stay there a while, because this is the worst time in history to put a house on the market. Also, if I can swing the payments, I could get a dog. I really want a dog. I cannot, however, adopt a dog until I am sure I have a house that it can live in on a long-term basis. It is nigh-on impossible to rent a room with a big dog. The house has a rather big back yard to run around in, and is walking distance from the really awesome dog park. I could take him to work with me, I could take him to most events with me, and life would be good.
It all comes down to how fast I can make the money roll in. On that front, my Mom's next-door neighbor is going to throw me a jewelry party! Probably in early December. She does hair as an independent, and knows a big client list. This is my excuse to make more filigree! I'm all excited about making more filigree, as I had to put that completely on hold to deal with Pennsic. I get some desperately-needed sales in December, The hostess gets some free jewelry, and everybody wins.
