Ok, so this shouldn't have taken all week, but as usual it did. This is a birthday present for Mistress Astra, so don't spill the beans until she receives it, which is either today or on her actual birthday tomorrow.

I should (ha!) have these available at 12th night in various color combinations, and as individual pieces as well. I have been wanting to make this piece for ages, as the original is in my Very Favorite Painting Ever: http://www.metmuseum.org/Works_Of_Art/viewOnezoom.asp?dep=15&zoomFlag=0&viewmode=0&item=1975%2E1%2E110
You can zoom in on the three brooches on the wall to the right of the saint's head. This is my interpretation of the center one. When you can see a really good close-up of that brooch, the end points so not really look like fleurs-des-lis, but like delicate branches. I decided to keep the fleur interpretation, rendering the branches as surface decoration on to pf the fleur points, becuase the delicate branches would not cast well.

Saturday I loaded the pavilion into the car, set up at Medieval Marketplace, had a lovely chat with [livejournal.com profile] marymont and [personal profile] aeddie, took down the pavilion, loaded it back into the car, and took it home. Too bad there wasn't much in the way of selling in between there. I gave it one more try because I like the idea of the event, but it's not drawing the right crowd for my merchandise. Frankly, it didn't draw much of a crowd at all. Oh well. I'm done with setting up a tent until Estrella.

Next week is Estimate Week. I owe several people quotes on new projects. I am also going to devote Wednesday to Projects I Feel Really Guilty About Not Finishing Yet. this includes repairs that are way overdue. They won't all get done, but I'll make a dent in it.

I had a very mellow Thanksgiving at my sister's house with Mom eating turkey and mashed potatoes and pie. Mmmm. Pie. I have enjoyed reading everyone's thanksgiving food entries. as I'm not much of a cook. Right now, though, I'm putting together a giant pot of spaghetti sauce that should last me two weeks.
