First experience of Katrina deprivation

Ok, this is how spoiled and insulated I am in southern CA. Even after watching all the awful disaster coverage, the only thing that had affected me aat all waas a slight increase in gas prices. But now, El Pollo Loco (a fast-food Mexican chain) can't get their special black beans, because the hurricane destroyed on of their facilities. It's just surreal that millions of people's lives were thrown upside down, and I just had to have a burrito with pinto beans instead of black beans.

I know, I know, I'll get my comeuppance when the "big one" hits southern CA. I've started socking away bottled water.
