I feel like I'm running at top speed and not getting anything done. Well, I have to keep reminding myself that it takes me a couple of days to recover from a big event. I spent five hours packing up from GWW, as I had a personal camp as well as the booth.

Last week I had been feeling guilty about moving 400 miles away from the best friends anybody ever had and being gone when they needed me, and 'poor me, I haven't made good friends down here (except for Joeguppy and Barongiles who invite me to parties and feed me and such)', when I got an email from Redgoldilocks stating that she had rounded up a batch of volunteers to watch my booth on Saturday so I could go up for the funeral. I have told that little story a score of times and my eyes still get watery over it. Thank You a hundred times to Red, Viking_Monkey, Barongiles, Master Gareth, and Mistress Brianna Le Francaise. You made an awful time a lot easier for me, and I appreciate it more than I can say.

It was really nice to camp out in my little red pavilion again. Feels like home.

So I have been deferring major maintenance on my wee car for quite some time, and the engine has started making that tickety-tickety noise when I accelerate. I found a mechanic on the AAA-recommended Service Centers website, and brought the car in yesterday morning. Turns out that the noise is indeed the valves, as I thought, but that noise is normal for an engine of this type that is over 100K miles. However, the timing belt has cracks in it, and the spark plugs need replacing, and a rear engine mount is broken and the power steering pump is leaking and several other things need attention. To the tune of $2400.00. Sigh. I spent yesterday fretting and figuring what I could do now or put off, and whether to drive up north with it in its current condition. It would take an entire day to replace the timing belt. I think I'm going to drop the car off on Friday morning, rent a Rav4 from Hertz to get me and my stuff to October Crown, and pick the car up on Monday. Expensive, but it cuts down on the fretting.

Still don't have internet in the House of Filth, and I haven't got the mental energy to argue with Earthlink right now. Maybe tonight.

I'm sorry to hear you are having so much car trouble. But I'm happy to hear that you are still coming to Crown. :-) I'm looking forward to talking to you about my budget/camping coronet. And talking to you socially is always good, too. :-)

BTW, I'm finally going to Friend-you. I'm just lazy when it comes to computers. :-/
